Pension Nora – Rooms

Pension Nora located in Chania old harbour is a grand old building that was founded in the Venetian times but was restored properly by the Vladis family in 1881. A plaque, commissioned by the family, still hangs on the first floor balcony to commemorate this.

The renovation has evidently been influenced by Venetian, Cretan and Western European architecture and to this day retains the same old-world charm. One can see the beautiful spiral wooden staircase that leads upstairs from the reception. The rooms lie on either side of the corridors and the 2 balconies with sea views face to the west and therefore capture the magnificent sunsets and summer breezes. The floors are wooden throughout and the ceilings are high and decorated. Beautiful antique Cretan rugs line the walls and all areas retain traditional furniture that adds to the mystique and ambiance of the experience of staying there.
We have a selection of rooms for visitors to choose from each with their own individual charm. Double bedroom for couples, twin rooms for 2 people sharing, triples and a large family room that sleeps 4 persons. Baby cots and beds can be added upon request.

All of the rooms have private bathrooms, air-conditioning and WiFi Internet. Hairdryers, an iron and ironing board, and a weighing scale to check how heavy your luggage is are all provided for your comfort and convenience.
Many rooms have fridges but additional facilities for cooking can be found in our well-equipped communal kitchen as well as complementary tea and coffee.
The owner is from Chania and speaks fluent English. He is very happy to share his knowledge of places to see in the around Chania and has written many of these ideas in his guest information book as well as an insight into the culture and way of life for Cretans and Greeks.
